Father’s Day Haircuts
From Dad’s Style to Son’s Style
Father’s Day is a special time. In Australia, many fathers like to spend the day with family. Some families give a gift, some go out for food, and some just enjoy time together.
One nice gift for Father’s Day is a haircut. A fresh haircut makes Dad feel clean, relaxed, and confident. At The Land of SunSHINE 88 Private Barber Studio in Prahran, I see many fathers and sons come together. It is a good way to share time, talk, and look fresh together.
Old Styles – Dad’s Generation
In the past, Australian men had very popular styles.
Many dads today used to wear these when they were young
Mullet
Short at the front and sides, long at the back. Very popular in the 70s and 80s.
Many football players had this style. Some dads still love it. Today, the mullet is popular again with young men too.
Mod Cut
Straight hair with a fringe, inspired by music bands like The Beatles in the 60s. It was simple but stylish at that time.
Middle Part
Hair parted in the middle, sometimes long and wavy. This was a big style in the 90s. Many young Aussie dads had this in school days.
Classic Side Part
This style is very clean and smart. Hair is combed to one side. Good for work, business, and special events. It never goes out of style.
New Styles – Son’s Generation
Today, younger Australian men have new, modern styles. These are the most popular now
Fade Cut
Very clean on the sides, short and smooth. Can be skin fade, taper fade, or low fade. Looks sharp and modern.
Textured Crop
Short on the sides, with choppy or messy hair on top. Easy to style, good for young men.
Messy Quiff
Hair lifted up at the front, but styled in a casual way. Good for work or going out.
Modern Mullet
The old mullet came back, but now with fade sides. Popular again in AFL and NRL players, also with young guys in Melbourne.
Father & Son Together
It is very special when father and son come for a haircut together. Dad can keep his favourite old style, or maybe try something new. The son can choose a trendy look, or maybe copy his dad’s hairstyle for fun.
When both sit in the barber chair, they talk, they laugh, and they share time. This is not only a haircut, it is a memory.
